INDEPENDENTLY TESTED

Our research was conducted at the Sports & Science Laboratory - Jacques Rogge at Ghent University, one of the top 10 sports science universities in the world.

The study evaluated the impact of RVE on the performance and recovery of runners. Twenty-five physically active participants, aged 18 to 27 years and training 2-3 times per week, participated. They performed identical running sessions under five different compression conditions: four with different RVE compression shorts and one with loose-fitting shorts (CONTROL).

The results showed a significant positive effect on sports recovery and performance, confirming its effectiveness in improving endurance and reducing fatigue.

REDUCTION OF MUSCLE DAMAGE

Independent research has shown that CK (creatine kinase) levels are significantly reduced in athletes using RVE Compression. Blood samples show an average 20% reduction in CK levels after 24 and 48 hours, outperforming the nearest compression competitor (A-level) by 7%.

CK is an enzyme released from damaged muscle tissue and is often used as a marker for muscle damage. Elevated CK levels in blood samples indicate muscle breakdown, making it crucial to keep these levels as low as possible. RVE Compression allows athletes to maintain their intense training schedule while minimizing the risk of muscle damage and speeding up the recovery process.

REDUCTION OF MUSCLE PAIN

By means of objective testing, using a subjective scale (0-10), the effect of RVE Compression on muscle fatigue and Delayed Onset Muscle Soreness (DOMS) was determined. The results showed a tendency towards reduction of DOMS after 24 and 48 hours.

DOMS is a subjective marker (rated on a scale of 1-10) used to measure muscle pain and stiffness hours or days after unaccustomed or intense exercise. Muscle soreness is most noticeable 24-72 hours after exercise and can be relieved with the right amount of compression.

PERFORMANCE ENHANCEMENT

Additional tests were performed at speeds of 10KM/H, 12KM/H and at high intensity. The results showed an average improvement in running economy of 5%, outperforming the nearest competitor (A-level) by 3.5%. In addition, a trend towards significantly lower perceived exertion levels (RPE) was observed during these tests.

Running economy measures a runner's energy efficiency when running at an aerobic pace, expressed in ml O2/(km.kg). Runners who consume less oxygen at a given speed have better running economy.

The Rate of Perceived Exertion (RPE) was measured using the Borg scale, which ranges from 6 (no exertion) to 20 (maximum exertion), and indicates the intensity of physical activity.

THE DESIGN

The design of the RVE Compression products has been carefully developed to support specific muscle chains and provide the right amount of compression in the right places. Special compression tape has been added to provide extra support to key muscle groups such as the quadriceps, hamstrings and calves.

RVE products effectively bridge the gap between comfort and compression, with scientifically proven benefits to enhance your performance and optimize your recovery.
